TALKING TO YOUR UNBORN BABY

TALKING TO YOUR UNBORN BABY:

What a child learns in the womb cannot be learnt in the earth. Mother is the first guru of the child. Intelligence can be nurtured, developed and expanded to the levels not yet imaginable, if we begin at earliest stages of life, before birth
                                                                                          – Akio Morita, One of the founders of Sony.

The uses of talking to baby are many. It’s an age old custom reflecting ancient wisdom. As I struggled , searching for methods to make pregnant mother happy and confident, I  stumbled upon ‘talk to baby’. As I started practising it ,I observed other uses like making pregnancy smooth sailing in complicated cases like BOH. Later I realised it can be used in shaping personality.

The uses of “TALKING TO THE BABY IN THE WOMB “

  1. To make mother happy and confident.
  2. It is  useful in ensuring smooth sailing of pregnancy(especially in BOH) and normal delivery
  3. Programming the baby in the womb by  ‘SOUL SEEDING’ in TALKING TO BABY
  4. Researchers have proved that fetus (baby in the womb) can not only listen, feel, taste, smell, see  but also  react to external stimuli . They can even learn and remember.
  5. Child can respond positively to mother’s words. Talking to the baby helps mother in establishing a stronger bond with the child.
  6. Our forefathers understood things well before western comprehension, perfected it to the extent that even great personalities can be produced through effective talking and positive thinking during pregnancy
  1. For instance our ancestors created great bakhta in Prahalda and a great warrior in Abhimanyu through the practice of listening skills in the womb.

HOW TO PRACTICE TALK TO BABY ?

Talk to baby technique seems to be easy, but it  is difficult to practice, because the mother has to be convinced of the fact that the unborn baby has all the feelings  and the capability to express. But for many people who are logical it seems ridiculous. They feel the baby is inert; it is just a parasite taking nutrition from the mother to grow.  So they carry the baby just like a bag of rice. They argue that when a grown up child itself doesn’t listen(respond/obey) to the mother’s words, how can an unborn baby listen and respond to the mother.

HOW IT WORKS?

We need to understand that the baby recognizes the external world through the medium of the mother. Baby is connected to the mother through the umbilical cord which carries blood vessels. When the mother takes food, it is converted into glucose (energy). Oxygen and glucose are carried to the baby for its growth and development and the waste (carbon dioxide and biochemical wastes) are brought back from the baby to the mother through the blood vessels for purification.

Along with the blood, the mother’s emotions also pass to the baby. The mother’s emotions trigger neuro transmitters that pass through the blood and trigger the same emotions in the baby.

She needs to have the longing and yearning to develop strong bonding with the baby. She has to keep talking with the baby.  The mother has to patiently wait for the response and (not be in hurry) baby slowly starts responding.

To understand the mechanism of “Talk To Baby ” I  have divided it into 3 steps

  1. The mother  listens to a particular song every day which she likes and enjoys. After a few days she will notice the baby moves  whenever she listens to that song. Slowly the mother understands that this baby movement( during listening )is not a coincidence, but a regular definite response, indicating that the baby is also enjoying the song.
  2. Once the mother is sure that the baby is capable of responding to a song , then she is convinced that the baby can respond to her voice. She talks to the baby by introducing herself, husband,  her family members; and tells the baby how much she likes  it and how everyone is eager to receive it . She wants the baby to move in response to her talks and waits for  the response;  she observes that the baby  slowly starts responding, then the bonding begins.
  3. Mother specifically  talks about the DO’S and the DONT’S  and the qualities  the baby should have. By practicing this third step the ”SOUL SEEDING” is done. After delivery we have seen the babies to be exactly the same way the mother had intended.(in features , color and behaviour)

I WISH TO SHARE ONE OF MY EXPERIENCES.

Radha delivered two children with me.  When she came for her second pregnancy .  She shared her experiences with her first boy. He was very intelligent and active exactly how she told to him to be during her first pregnancy. Radha was practicing to write with  left hand during her 8th month of first pregnancy, because she heard that writing with both hands will improve the IQ. She thought of teaching her baby later; to her surprise she found that her first son was writing with his both hands very easily and effortlessly at the age of 3 years without herself teaching.  One more interesting finding, of  her first pregnancy  is that she used to finish her household work and watch SVBC Channel, in the afternoon when Lord Venkateswara’s marriage festival would be telecast. seeing it she would fall asleep. She was surprised to find that whenever her first son saw that marriage festival on T.V he would sleep off. This is the impact of thoughts and words on the unborn child.

COMPARISION OF STORIES FROM SCRIPTURE WITH  THAT OF REAL EXPERIENCE :

Abhimanyu, the great warrior in the epic ‘The Mahabharatha’ was the son of Arjuna and Subhadra. Being a queen of Arjuna, Subhadra also interested in listening to the technique or ploy in war field. When she was pregnant, she asked her husband Arjuna to explain to her in detail, the most difficult ‘Vyuhas’ in the battle field. Arjuna was delighted and started narrating the most difficult ‘Padmavyuha or Chakravyuha’ to her. She, along with her baby in the womb, listened to that with immense attention. While Arjuna was explaining her how to break the padmavyuha and how to enter into it, Subhadra fell asleep. But the baby in her womb was very attentive and it registered the entire conversation in its mind. But Arjuna was not aware that Subhadra was sleeping. When Arjuna was explaining how to get out of Padmavyuha, Lord Krishna had entered the room and told Arjuna, See, Subhadra is already in deep sleep. Arjuna stopped there and went out with Lord Krishna without disturbing Subhadra. That is why, though Abhiumanyu was a great warrior, he could only enter the Padmavyuha and break it.

Boris Brott a conductor of the Hamilton (Ontario )philharmonic symphony , answered when an interviewer asked him how he had become interested in music “you know, this may sound strange ,but music has been a part of me since before birth.”          “well,” said brott as a young man , I was mystified by this unusual ability I had – to play certain pieces sight unseen I’d be conducting a score for the first time and suddenly, the cello line would jump out at me;  I’d know the flow of the piece even before I turned the page of the score . One day I mentioned this to my mother, who is a professional cellist. I thought she’d be intrigued because it was always the cello line that was so distinct in my mind. She was; but when she heard what the pieces were, the mystery quickly solved itself. All the scores I knew sight unseen were ones she had played while she was pregnant with me.”

ALL 5 senses are developed in the womb for baby, of which hearing and touch are very well developed.

HEARING

The baby begins to listen and react to sound as early as 16th week. However by 28th week onwards the baby’s responses to sound are so consistent and interactive

It is observed that for a foetus, the mother’s voice is more favourable than the father’s voice

It is observed that a soothing music pacifies foetus while rocking or loud music disturbs them and made them increase their pace and intensity of kicking.

Foetus learns language and emotions through mother’s voice

Heart Sounds and Connection

Mother’s heart beat is the continuous sound that baby hears. Against that non stop backdrop  sound the baby grows  and that is the reason why  the baby develops immediate relationship with the mother.

It is reported that 80 percent of statues and pictures show the child held on the mother’s left side. Intuitive acknowledgment of baby seems to receive special comfort when held on the left side of your chest, over the heart. When a crying baby is held on the shoulder the baby stops crying because it hears the heartbeat closer and it gives the baby a comforting feeling.

Salk conducted a famous experiment playing heartbeat sounds in a hospital nursery. He placed two groups of infants in two separate rooms and allowed heart beat sound to fill only one room. He recorded their audible reactions by microphone.

With the same amount of food, seventy percent of the infants in the heartbeat group gained more weight; they also slept better and cried less probably because they were reminded of theirs’ mothers. For a foetus the sound of mother’s heart beat provides comfort and security

One of the first modern researchers to study singing during pregnancy was obstetrician Michel Odent, who organized group meetings around a piano in the French Village of Pithiviers.

Compared with an ordinary population of pregnant women, Odent’s singing group reported easier births and more powerful bonding between mother and baby immediately after birth.

An unborn baby not only tastes foods, but can smell them as well.

OUR EXPERIENCES

When a mother ate sprouts and carrot juice , the child after birth preferred sprouts as snacks for school and drank carrot juice whenever she went out.

One Mother who ate aloevera and sprouts before  and during pregnancy was surprised to find her daughter licking  and liking aloevera even at eight months and munched sprouts when offered for first time during her pre kg class.
